Joe Montana, a Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback, might be better known for his four Super Bowl championships with the San Francisco 49ers than as a financier of startups. But through Liquid2 Ventures, his seed-investment fund founded in 2014, Montana has invested in 87 startups. Two of his standouts include the customer-onboarding startup Flatfile and money-management software company Origin, which hit a $400 million valuation in August. In February, Montana and his Liquid2 partners announced that they’d raised an $80 million third fund, and that the previous funds had each hit the industry bull’s-eye of a three-time return for their investors.

Ali tries to make a career of investing in people smarter than himself. He has backed Airbnb, Dropbox, Facebook, & Uber. He co-founded Code.org (Hour of Code) to bring Computer Science to classrooms. Ali grew up in Tehran during the Iran-Iraq war, attended Harvard, and sold his first startup, LinkExchange, in 1998.

Sameer joined Accel in 2008 and focuses on consumer, cloud/saas, and media companies. Sameer is responsible for Accel's investments in Aura, Bonobos (acquired by Walmart), CrowdStrike (CRWD), DecisionLink, Diapers.com (acquired by Amazon), DJI, Donut, Dropbox (DBX), Dropcam (acquired by Google), Eagle Eye Networks, Flipkart (acquired by Walmart), Freshworks (FRSH), Jet (acquired by Walmart), Orum, Plex (Acquired by Rockwell Automation), Public, Sonatype (acquired by Vista), Spotify (SPOT), Venmo (acquired by Braintree/PayPal), Wonder, and World View.

Paul Graham is the author of On Lisp (1993), ANSI Common Lisp (1995), and Hackers & Painters (2004). In 1995, he and Robert Morris started Viaweb, the first SaaS company, which in 1998 became Yahoo Store. In 2002 he discovered a simple spam filtering algorithm that inspired the current generation of filters. He has an AB from Cornell and a PhD in Computer Science from Harvard.

Previously a co-founder and CEO of Justin.tv from 2007 2011 and the co-founder and CEO of Socialcam in 2012. Graduated from Yale University with a bachelor's degree in political science.
