Angela Strange is a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz where she focuses on financial services including fintech infrastructure, insurance, real estate, and increasing financial inclusivity Prior to joining a16z, Angela was a product manager at Google where she launched and grew Chrome for Android and Chrome for iOS into two of Google's most successful mobile products. She has also served as director of product management and business development at Ruba.com (acquired by Google), a senior associate partner at Bay Partners focusing on the consumer internet sector, and a consultant at Mercer Management Consulting in Toronto. Angela helped launch and was co-chair of C100, a non-profit that bridges Canadian entrepreneurs with Silicon Valley, and on the Canadian Finance Minister Morneau's Economic Growth Council. She earned her Mechanical Engineering degree from Queen's University in Canada and an MBA from Stanford.

Prior to Gradient, Zach led acquisitions and strategic investments as a member of Google’s Corporate Development team, where he focused on Google’s Cloud, Ads and Commerce businesses. Before Google, Zach advised software and internet companies as an investment banker, leading companies through M&As, IPOs, and other financing opportunities. Zach started his career as a quant and data scientist at a leading energy trading hedge fund, and also co-founded a social media startup. Zach serves on the Board of Directors at Openly, Elsa, and Wise Systems, among other companies. He received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from the University of Virginia, his JD from the UCLA School of Law, and his MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.

At Commerce, Dan focuses on technology innovations in the payments, financial services and insurance fields. He serves on the boards of Blooom, ClickSWITCH, Kin and Socure, and participates as an observer on several other portfolio boards, such as BillGO and MX Technologies. Prior to starting Commerce Ventures, Dan was a Principal at Highland Capital Partners, where he focused on mobile and payments-related startups.

For 30 years, Matt has been investing in the visionary fintech founders creating seismic changes in payments, lending, capital markets, insurance, and real estate. He is particularly interested in backing companies building next-generation embedded fintech tools that will upend traditional banking, lending, and B2B payments through increased transparency and security.

Peter was previously senior vice president and general manager of the Data Center and Cloud Division at Citrix where he was responsible for revenue, product management, business development, and strategic direction. Peter joined Citrix in 2007 through its $500 million acquisition of XenSource, the leading provider of enterprise-class open source virtualization software, where he served as CEO.

Mark joined Index in 2015. He leads investments in financial services and software businesses, from seed to pre-IPO stages.

Salil Deshpande was an engineer for 15 years before becoming an investor, and he credits this expertise as the key to his success as a seed-stage investor. Deshpande has been a venture capitalist since 2006, when he became a general partner at Bay Partners. He also did a long stint as the managing director of the venture arm of Bain Capital. Now, he’s a general partner at Uncorrelated Ventures, his early-stage fund that focuses on open-source and infrastructure software. Deshpande’s early investments in decentralized-finance startups have paid off: CoinDCX reached unicorn status in August at a $1.1 billion valuation. His best piece of advice for seed investing: “Specialize and be a domain expert so that you can add value to startups.”
