Jordan Blashek gave up an early plan to attend medical school at Princeton and instead trained himself from being able to do only a few pull-ups into a Marine Corps officer after 9/11, a decision shaped in part by his mother's experience building a troop-support nonprofit called Operation Gratitude from their living room, and his later views on national security were sharpened by experiences like being shadowed by a Chinese submarine off the Horn of Africa and learning from Afghan soldiers about the strategic importance of rare earths and lithium. As an investor, he believes strongly that keeping ownership of defense, space, and industrial tech companies in public markets matters for everyday Americans and for national renewal, he sees energy infrastructure as the real bottleneck behind the AI boom, and he applies a Marine principle of moving carefully to get early technical steps right before scaling aggressively once the fundamentals are solid.
