8i Ventures is led by repeat fintech founder Vikram Chachra and deliberately backs non-pedigree founders from outside India's elite institutions, positioning itself as a contrarian alternative to pedigree-driven early-stage VC in India. The fund focuses specifically on India's financial infrastructure and pipes of commerce through its branded pre-seed program Origami, which writes $250K-$2M lightning-fast cheques as a core deployment mechanism rather than a side initiative.
