Beyond Ventures is a venture capital fund focused only on Hong Kong startups, named after the Hong Kong rock band Beyond, and built from a mix of a Hong Kong tech VC, the investment firm Hony Capital, and two Hong Kong entrepreneurs who have run their own companies through past economic downturns. It partners with Hong Kong's government-backed Innovation and Technology Venture Fund for co-investment and mainly backs harder technology areas like AI, semiconductors, and biotech rather than consumer apps, with investments in companies such as SenseTime, Prenetics, and Mapxus.
