HAX operates the world's first pre-seed program focused exclusively on hard tech startups building physical, science-based products in climate, industrial automation, and human health, with an in-house team of engineers, designers, and specialists who directly co-build prototypes and handle manufacturing design as an extension of founding teams. The program combines a 35,000 sq. ft. industrial lab in Newark with integrated teams in Shenzhen and Pune, giving founders simultaneous access to U.S. engineering capabilities and Asian manufacturing ecosystems while structuring investments as a mix of cash and in-kind engineering services to lower capital intensity for hardware development.
