Nordic Science Investments is the first Nordic venture capital fund built specifically around university spinouts, led by founders with backgrounds in technology transfer and research commercialization, and designed to help researchers, PhD students, and postdocs work through the early, complex steps of turning academic research—such as transferring intangible rights and forming a founding team—into a company. This focus led Tesi to back the fund to help close a gap in Finnish deeptech commercialization, and Taaleri later acquired a majority stake in NSI not long after it launched.
