OpenAI Startup Fund is a venture fund that operates inside OpenAI rather than as a standalone firm, using flexible deal-by-deal funding structures and backing from strategic partners like Microsoft. The fund focuses on companies that can leverage OpenAI's frontier models and platform access, with its investment choices serving as signals to other AI investors about where commercial AGI applications show the most promise.
