Oregon Venture Fund launched in 2007 as a collaborative venture fund where about 180 venture partners—most of whom have founded or led a company—are chosen for their ability to help startups directly, and investors can join each year through an annual model instead of a typical multi-year commitment, with the fund focused on serving Oregon and Southern Washington while partnering with, rather than competing against, Bay Area and Seattle investors. To keep local investing accessible, the fund creates a new fund each calendar year and set its minimum individual commitment at $50K, well below the $500K+ often required at comparable funds.
