Sunfish Partners is a Berlin- and Warsaw-based venture fund built on the idea that Poland and Eastern Europe have highly skilled technical founders who are underfunded compared to Western Europe, letting Sunfish invest at lower pre-seed prices while structuring the fund under German rules to suit its mostly German investors. After spending years building relationships with local founders and researchers before officially launching, and after being the first angel investors in Ramp Network, Sunfish has grown into a fund that now focuses on backing space and defense startups from Eastern Europe with the stated goal of strengthening Europe's autonomy.
