Andrew Durkie spent over 20 years in M&A and corporate roles at HBOS and Lloyds Banking Group before joining Eos, where he now focuses on university spinouts and science-based companies like Naturbeads, Scarlet Therapeutics, and EnsiliTech, as well as building up Scotland's deeptech ecosystem. Outside of his investing work, he also serves as treasurer of Street Fit Scotland.
About their Fund
Eos acts as a bridge between everyday investors and complex science and technology companies, combining an angel syndicate, an annual EIS fund, and a growth-stage vehicle so it can back Scottish spinouts from their first check through later rounds, backed by a team that includes scientists, former tech-transfer insiders, and figures like world-record cyclist Mark Beaumont who help attract global co-investors. Its portfolio focuses on hard-to-commercialize science and engineering, such as cancer diagnostics, soft robotics, and gene-silencing therapeutics, supported by partnerships like one with US-based Kineticos aimed at funneling over £10 million into Scottish oncology ventures, and by backing from British Business Investments, which committed £10 million to invest alongside Eos's syndicate and fund.
