Ashley Suhalim rose through Intudo Ventures from analyst to principal rather than joining as an outside hire, building her career there after working in investment and wealth advisory at PT Syailendra Asia and interning in EY's M&A and valuation group, and studying commerce at the University of Melbourne before returning to build her career in Jakarta. She was named to Venture Capital Journal's Rising Stars 2021 list while at Intudo, adding personal recognition to her long-standing role at the firm.
About their Fund
Intudo Ventures invests only in Indonesia rather than treating it as one market within a broader regional fund, and it positions itself as a bridge between Indonesia and Silicon Valley, pairing deep relationships with more than 30 Indonesian conglomerates with Silicon Valley ties through co-founders like Eddy Chan, while deliberately making a small number of concentrated bets instead of building a broad portfolio. It stays connected to major local business groups without depending on any single one, which it says appeals to founders who don't want to align too early with one corporate bloc, and it has built its own talent pipeline through programs like PULKAM and BUMI that bring Indonesian professionals and students back into the local startup ecosystem. It has also been willing to back real-economy and online-to-offline businesses that other funds viewed as unproven, and it has recently expanded beyond software startups into funding for natural resources and renewable energy.
