Before joining Section 32, Derrick Chow worked across startups, growth investing, and public markets—gaining hands-on experience at Uber and Fivestars, helping lead late-stage deals at CapitalG, and working on Slack's direct listing and ZoomInfo's IPO at Morgan Stanley, including close involvement in shaping how CapitalG described its investments in Whatnot and Duolingo. He attended UC Berkeley on a full-ride Gates Foundation scholarship and now focuses on enterprise software, AI, and data infrastructure at Section 32, with portfolio exposure to companies like Physical Intelligence, NewLimit, Infleqtion, Databricks, and Scale AI.
