Jacob Bernstein is a Principal at Highland Europe who has an unusually global background for a UK-based investor, having grown up between North London and Chicago and traveled extensively from Namibia to Antarctica to driving overland from London to Beijing. He leads Highland's investments in science-driven companies like Oritain, which uses forensic science to verify where goods come from, and serves on boards of technically complex security companies including Zero Networks and Oritain rather than remaining a purely financial backer.
