Jeff Dorman looks at digital assets as many different kinds of economic exposures rather than one single asset class, and he focuses on what economic rights or cash flows sit inside a token rather than the token’s packaging itself. He has also explored pushing crypto projects to unlock value for token holders early on, favors steady, lower-risk yield opportunities over pure speculation, and pays close attention to blockchain’s basic building blocks, like payments and stablecoins, rather than just price swings.
About their Fund
BlockTower Capital was founded by Ari Paul, who managed portfolio and risk work at the University of Chicago endowment, and Matthew Goetz, a former Goldman Sachs executive and engineer, giving the firm an unusual mix of endowment-style risk discipline and Wall Street trading background; that combination shows up in a firm that runs trading, venture investing, and credit underwriting together, including a $1.9B on-chain credit fund and a $220M structured credit fund tokenized on Centrifuge with a 97% reduction in securitization costs. The firm later acquired the market-neutral hedge fund Gamma Point Capital to help attract institutional capital, and its first dedicated venture fund, a $150M vehicle led by Thomas Klocanas, grew out of years of research, trading, and credit work rather than starting as a standalone crypto seed fund.
