Jim Labe helped build the venture lending industry itself, starting at Equitec and founding Comdisco Ventures in 1987 before co-founding TriplePoint, and he's even trained senior people now working at other venture lending firms. With about 40 years in the field and roughly two decades steering TriplePoint's originations and VC relationships, he's recently become sole CEO, a sign the firm still sees him as central to its identity.
