Joe Zhou Zhi Xiong is one of the earliest generation of institutional VCs in mainland China, having started his venture career in 1999 and gaining a multi-cycle perspective that spans the formative years of the local VC ecosystem. He was selected by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers to be a founding managing partner for KPCB China, leading the launch of its $360m China-focused fund and positioning him as a key bridge between top-tier Sand Hill Road capital and on-the-ground China execution.
