John McIlwraith built his career in three deliberate stages—corporate lawyer, healthcare operating executive, and then full-time venture investor—before spending 12 years at Blue Chip Venture Company and later co-founding Allos Ventures, giving him a rare mix of software investing experience and deep healthcare knowledge. Beyond investing, he has helped build venture infrastructure across the Midwest as a founding board member of the Michigan Venture Capital Association and Cincinnati's OCEAN Accelerator, founding chairman of VentureOhio, and an early leader of Gazelle TechVentures, while also serving as chairman of Meridian Bioscience's board and teaching entrepreneurship at Miami University.
