Kavita Gupta got into Bitcoin mining in 2013 while working at the World Bank in Cairo, and went on to work at the IFC and Eric Schmidt's family office before founding ConsenSys Ventures and the Tachyon accelerator, making some of the earliest investments in companies like Polygon, StarkWare, Quantstamp, and Sorare. She has said she is likely the second woman founder and the only woman of color to launch a fund in her part of the crypto space, and alongside her work at Delta Blockchain Fund she teaches Beyond Bitcoin as a visiting scholar at Stanford and won a UN Innovation Award in 2015 for helping create green and social impact bonds.
About their Fund
Delta Blockchain Fund was founded by Kavita Gupta, who previously helped start ConsenSys Ventures and the Tachyon accelerator and made early investments in companies like Polygon and StarkWare, and the fund focuses on foundational but unglamorous blockchain infrastructure—such as cross-chain systems, identity computing, and developer tools—rather than chasing trendy apps, screening out 97 of every 100 applicants through a process that includes technical coders and venture partners. Beyond investing, Delta has incubated companies itself, including Inclusive Layer and Caishen, keeps an internal technical and research team that publishes open-source work, and has Gupta speaking publicly on blockchain regulation and teaching a course at Stanford, giving the fund a broader identity as a research- and policy-minded builder rather than a typical venture capital firm.
