Before becoming an investor, Magdalena Plotcyk did original bioengineering research on scar remodelling and regenerative medicine, including work on how hair follicles can remodel fibrotic tissue, and she also worked on technology commercialization at Imperial College and with the WHO medical devices team. Her connection to Switzerland goes back to an EPFL research internship, well before she joined VI Partners, giving her a firsthand link to Swiss science rather than one formed later in her career.
