Massimo Sgrelli still thinks of himself as a software engineer first, and he invests in technical founders building things like dev tools, open source projects, and infrastructure software because that's the world he comes from. He's especially drawn to first-time founders and has spent years seeking out ambitious Italian engineers who are willing to move to San Francisco and build English-first, U.S.-focused companies, an effort that started with Mashape/Kong and later grew into a broader search for the next Kong.
