Nicholas Nelson is a Venture Partner at Superangel who founded Europe's first defence-technology-focused venture investor in 2020, well before the current defence tech wave, and brings nearly two decades of combined experience across defence, intelligence, and venture capital including lived government strategy and deployment work. He intentionally based his operations in Estonia to sit in the heart of the Baltics and structures his portfolio around three specific buckets—unmet needs, future needs, and unknown unknowns—borrowing from his defence and intelligence background to frame early-stage bets in terms of capability gaps and scenario planning rather than standard sector verticals.
