Embark Ventures is a Los Angeles-based venture fund that focuses on pre-seed and seed deep-tech companies, most of which have no revenue yet, writing checks between $100K and $2M while paying special attention to Southern California companies and also investing across the US and Canada, with a strong focus on robotics, industrial automation, and hard science spinouts from research labs. It has also served as an external investment manager for an Australian public company, MMJ Group, which said Embark gave it access to a Canada-based investment team and offered terms better than another firm being considered.
