Before moving into venture investing, Thothathri Srinivasan spent six years at Netflix Studio building the systems behind content rights, music rights, and international playback deals, worked directly on merchant sales at Groupon, and is listed as an inventor on a U.S. patent for group rewards and promotions technology, all before transitioning into investing through Insignia Ventures Academy, angel investing with XA Network, and a part-time Venture Partner role at MVP. He grew up in Bangalore, studied and worked in the U.S., and later moved his family to Southeast Asia, and he has described discovering the startup Flip after a taxi driver told him how much money the app had saved him, which he says shaped his interest in the company.
