LAUNCH is the only venture fund that grew directly out of an independent media empire, with Jason Calacanis using his podcast "This Week in Startups" and conferences as a dealflow funnel to invest in ~100 new startups per year. The fund runs one of the largest angel syndicates in the world with 10,000+ accredited backers who can co-invest alongside the fund, deliberately opening venture returns to a broad base of angels rather than just institutions.
