Bert Amato built his career as an engineer and operator, co-founding Schematix and later serving as co-founder and CTO of Delrina, where he led product strategy and R&D for WinFax before its $415M sale to Symantec. That hands-on technical background carried into his investing, where he has personally put angel and seed money into ten companies that went on to sell, backing technically strong startups like BenchSci, ProteinQure, and AutoHauler across very different fields.
