Don Lam helped launch one of Vietnam’s first opportunity funds in 2003, investing in early private companies like Kinh Do and Hoa Phat and in the privatization of Vinamilk, and he still advises the Prime Minister’s office as Deputy Chairman of the Private Sector Development Committee while running VinaCapital. Beyond investing, he founded and chairs the VinaCapital Foundation for children’s health and education, serves as Vice Chairman of the Institute for Circular Economy Development, and sits on the boards of Singapore Management University and the University of Toronto, giving him a reach into philanthropy, sustainability, and academia that most venture investors don’t have.
