Dr. Ibrahim Almojel led SIDF's transformation after Vision 2030, expanding it into logistics, mining, and renewables while growing its capital from $17B to $28B, and now brings that experience to venture investing as founding partner of Khwarizmi Ventures, working across VC, private equity, industrial investing, and real estate. Beyond the fund, he sits on numerous major Saudi boards, serves as inaugural non-executive chairman of Khazna's Saudi business, teaches at Stanford GSB, and founded both the Stanford Club of Saudi Arabia and Eastern Oqal, the leading angel investor network in the Eastern Province.

Khwarizmi Ventures gets its name from a 9th-century scholar whose name is where the word algorithm comes from, and the fund says it backs founders building disruptive algorithms, mostly first-time founders based in Saudi Arabia and across the Middle East. Even though its focus is mostly Saudi, it has backed founders from places as different as Morocco, Egypt, Pakistan, and Singapore, and it reached several exits and started returning money to investors not long after closing its first fund.
