Before moving into venture secondaries, Ira worked on software and analytics for the Department of Defense with a Secret Clearance, conducted research at MIT with Jonathan Gruber, and studied civil engineering there, then built his investing career through fund and secondaries work at Commonfund, Carlyle/AlpInvest, and now Industry Ventures. At Industry Ventures, he focuses specifically on helping corporate venture groups create liquidity and spin out or build portfolios, and he's known internally for working with both sellers of direct shares in private companies and sellers of LP stakes in venture funds.
