John Gu brings a technical foundation—engineering and economics degrees from Carnegie Mellon—together with a mix of healthcare investing, early-stage venture work, and software growth equity, giving him a broad sense of how companies grow at different stages, especially in markets where complex operations create a real advantage. At BIP Ventures, he focuses on enterprise software, cybersecurity, and devtools companies such as FortifyData, GameDriver, Kobiton, LineSlip Solutions, Lumu, and SkillCycle, and he has also taken on a board role with Venture Atlanta’s 2026 conference to help support the broader startup community in the Southeast.
