Louis Bock co-founded Scale Venture Partners and built its biotechnology investment practice from the ground up at what was historically a tech-focused firm, and has an unusually strong track record of backing companies that became multi-billion-dollar biopharma leaders including early investments in Seagen and Horizon Therapeutics, both later acquired in two of the largest biotech M&A deals in history. He combines a bench-to-business background starting in research and project management roles at Genentech and Gilead Sciences before moving into business development and venture capital, and has the relatively uncommon experience among life-science VCs of serving on the board of a major university technology transfer arm at Arizona State University.
