Martin Möllmann is a Principal at HTGF who focuses specifically on early-stage B2B SaaS companies in retail, AI infrastructure, and industrial software rather than taking a generalist approach. He positions himself as both a Sparringspartner and Kummerkasten for founders, regularly appears as a jury member on German startup pitch formats, and emphasizes close collaboration on operational topics like go-to-market and hiring as core parts of his investment role.

HTGF is a €1.3 billion public-private seed fund created by the German government in 2005 to commercialize publicly funded research from universities and institutes like Fraunhofer and Max Planck, serving as Germany's conversion engine from research to VC-ready companies. The fund leverages its industrial corporate limited partners as commercialization partners for portfolio companies and focuses specifically on Industrial Climate & Deep Tech plus Life Sciences & Chemistry, writing small seed tickets to prepare startups for follow-on private VC rounds.
