Mo was formerly a partner at DFJ and its early-stage spinout Threshold. He led investments and served on the boards of companies such as Benepass, EdgeQ, Freeform, Moonlake AI, Parasail, Parspec, Topos Bio, and was involved in the firm’s investments in Mythic, Nervana (Intel) and Zoox (Amazon), among other disruptive technology companies.

Before DFJ, Mo was on the engineering team at In-Q-Tel, where he conducted technical diligence on behalf of the CIA. Mo also held engineering roles at Lockheed Martin, the National Science Foundation, and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.

Mo is an author of Disrupting Unemployment: Reflection on a Sustainable, Middle-Class Economic Recovery, addressing the disruption of employment by the rise of automation and artificial intelligence.

Mo graduated with a BS in electrical engineering, with interdisciplinary honors in international security studies, and an MBA from Stanford.

For instance, recently led a 28 million dollar seed round for Moonlake, an applied AI lab, and a 10.5 million dollar round for ToposBio, which uses AI models for drug discovery and characterizing complex proteins.
• Deeply rooted in the aerospace and defense sectors, frequently looking back at early board involvement with SpaceX as a generational success story. Still actively engaged in this space today, regularly cheering on visionary founders in aerospace and advanced manufacturing, such as the teams building Freeform and Nominal.
• Keeping a close eye on the transition to autonomous vehicles and advanced robotics, noting that the broader market is still underestimating how disruptive self driving tech will be as it scales through companies like Waymo. Also tracking the dropping manufacturing costs of humanoid robots, specifically anticipating the rollout of hardware like Tesla Optimus.
