Sarah Chapman is a rare 2x climate-tech founder turned VC who built solar companies in both the UK (Glowb) and emerging markets (Faro Energy in Brazil) before joining SET Ventures, giving her hands-on operator experience in the exact sectors she now backs as an investor. She joined SET specifically to lead UK origination and brings an unusual combination of emerging-markets project development experience, policy and NGO background through roles at organizations like WRAP, and a mathematics degree from Cambridge that supports her technical approach to evaluating complex energy technologies.

SET Ventures is a specialist climate fund that has exclusively focused on digital technologies for Europe's energy system transition since 2007, deliberately staying early-stage with €2-5m Series A checks rather than drifting to later stages like many older climate funds. The firm backs software and AI solutions that make existing renewable and grid infrastructure work better, supported by an advisory board of energy industry experts who formally review investment decisions.
