Stephen Schmalhofer is a venture partner at Teamworthy Ventures who also writes about overlooked historical and literary figures, from Francis Marion Crawford to Roman history and Catholic cultural figures, and has told students that reading novels is good preparation for investing. He came to venture from reinsurance and capital markets, wrote a book of portraits called Delightful People, and often writes about football, faith, and old attachments to places like Yale, Rome, and Pennsylvania's Conestoga River as part of a life built around discipline, tradition, and serious ideas.
