Zach Maurides built Teamworks out of a problem he lived firsthand as a Duke football player juggling coaches, trainers, and tutors through separate channels, then kept the company self-funded for five to six years before taking outside money, leads based on lessons from playing under different coaches rather than typical management style, and grew early demand by leaning on the rivalry-driven psychology of college athletics rather than standard marketing. He also pushes Teamworks to address athlete mental health as a broader unmet need in sports technology, and outside of work he is an All-ACC Academic Team honoree and a climber who has summited Mount Elbrus and Kilimanjaro twice.
