Ward Hendon's path to venture blends law, teaching, and company-building in an unusual way: he was a corporate lawyer and federal judicial clerk, helped build Axiom Law from the ground up, and has taught everyone from MBA and law students to incarcerated students at San Quentin's Mt. Tamalpais College, all while helping grow a climate-focused investing community in New Mexico. His interest in climate work traces back to growing up in the Great Smoky Mountains, and he's open about believing that business and technology alone can't solve social and environmental problems, even as he stays optimistic about entrepreneurship's role in tackling them.
