Darius Zakaitis builds much more than a portfolio—through Tech Zity, Vilnius Tech Park, Rupert, and Startup Highway, he creates the physical spaces and communities where founders actually work and connect, based on his belief that startups grow out of people spending real time together. His path to venture investing went through art, architecture, and city planning rather than a typical finance track, and it shows in how he talks about founders: he now says people matter more than ideas, that Lithuanians build resourceful companies because their small home market pushes them to think globally from day one, and that his own team runs with no hierarchy at all.
